Would you and other people stop calling them Christians? This infuriates me the same way everyone kept calling trumpers and MAGA conservative when there is nothing conservative about them.

If you are calling for violence, you are not a christian, full stop. You are a christianist, no different than an islamist, no different than the crazed zealots in the West Bank. You are using religion as a weapon and excuse to subjugate, oppress and rule others. It has zero to do with faith and everything to do with political power.

Stop giving them the cover of religion. Call them what they are. fascist using religion to goad others into violence.

Unilateral disarmament is suicide.

Jesus told his followers to sell their cloak and buy a sword.

All of Europe (and therefore also America) would have been Islamic without Christians driving out the Muslims with violence.

Your choice isn’t violence or no violence, it’s violent Muslims or violent Christians. Or death.

Jesus was not telling His disciples to become “violent Christians” in Luke 22:36 (or anywhere else). That interpretation is irresponsible and uninformed eisegesis, easily refuted by any basic Bible commentary. Rather, He was warning them in that verse that a time of trial and persecution was approaching. Also recall what He said to Peter in Matt. 26:52, when He told him to put his sword away.

He told Peter to put his sword away because He had to be handed over to give his life for us.

And again, if you don’t have some violent Christians around you, your choices will quickly be reduced to martyrdom or submission to Islam.

Re-read my first sentence. Yes, Peter was not to draw the sword in an attempt to try to thwart God’s will for His Son. But “live by the sword, die by the sword” is key. It is Jesus’ warning that people who practice violence are in danger of being felled by it themselves. It’s also a reminder that God’s weapons are not the weapons of this world. Mind you, I am not a pacifist. I am not saying there is never a time for just war. But you are coming across as simplistically conquest-minded and bloodthirsty, minus any straightforward biblical justification for it. This is the great eisegetic error of Woke Right Christian Nationalism. It is all sword and no Sword of the Spirit.

Conquest minded? We’ve been invaded by the largest movement of people in human history. 10% of births are to noncitizen parents every year. Every hostile people and religion already have a beachhead in our country. I’m not saying “let’s take Greenland,” I’m saying “let’s keep Christendom.”

What you’re actually saying is that you’re ready for your Klan hood, because you’re espousing their ideology.

Or you know, Christians could just convert people? Like we did last time?

Christians have no right to dominance. Nothing in the Bible says we'll be the majority, or have states, etc. etc. Christianity can live under Rome, under the wealth of European empire (which turned many souls way from God into colonial barbarism), under the rule of non-Christian religions.

Christianity is a faith, not a race, not a cultural group, not europeaness.

I mean, Hitler was ostensibly Protestant. And Naziism was so dominant and “successful” because of German Protestant Christian Nationalism. These buffoons and their complete lack of historical awareness is as glaring as their racism is repugnant.

How much of this Hitler reference does he really mean? Vs. invoking the name for shock value?

Kim Rubin's avatar

I think he 100% means it. He’s even learned from Hitler that the “final solution” must be accomplished differently. Same aims, same “beliefs,” and *some* similar methods. It’s the method of carrying out the project that needs the tweaking for people like Spangler given Hitler’s methods didn’t solve the “problem” entirely…

I mean is it much better if not literal? Maybe 5%, still totally evil.

I wish the term “Protestant” was removed from use. It assumes something not in evidence. I am not a Catholic but I am also not protesting anything.
